KBS hosts book swap events nearly every other month in Kyoto. These events are open to anyone and everyone who loves books, regardless of background or language.
【イベント】Book Swap (ブックスワップ：本と本の物々交換)はほぼ隔月のペースで開催しているイベントです。本と本、人と本、人と人の交流ができる恒例イベントを通じて、バックグラウンドや言語を問わない読者好きのコミュニティ。著者やタイトル、殿堂入り、ニッチ、新刊などと、情報交換ができる場所と時間を設けています。

From September 2026, book swaps will look a little different.
We'll have several small group meetups each month, instead of one big swap every few months. 4 seats per group. Participants will be matched according to their book interests, hobbies, location (within Kansai), goals & intentions for joining, etc.
Even if you’re not a big reader, and you’re just looking to meet new people and have meaningful conversation, we welcome anyone interested in trying this out with us.
